Re: astros said no to lidge for westbrook

This one, though, might be worth remembering... as I recall, Purpura was thought to have had some talks about Westbrook last off-season as well... could be that some other arrangement of players might...

Re: astros said no to lidge for westbrook

Definitely made the right call on that one, Westbrook is durable and eats innings, but hes hardly pretty doing it.

Re: astros said no to lidge for westbrook

I don't know that I'd do Lidge for Westbrook straight up either, but I definitely wouldn't mind working some sort of deal to get him here. Westbrook is solid...maybe not spectacular, but I'd dig him...

Re: astros said no to lidge for westbrook

Those numbers may have gone down the last few years, but problem is he hasnt gotten any better. His 04 year was by far his best, but since then (and before) hes putten up below average ERAs for the...

Re: astros said no to lidge for westbrook

All of what you say is true, but I would again point out the money issue. You are getting an innings eater (which you do not have outside of Oswalt even with Pettitte) and still breaking even...
